Walking With Endomondo
A while back, I blogged about using Endomondo with my cell phone.
I finally got a chance to use it for more than tracking the weekly walk to our neighbors.
Brandon and I took Freedom for a walk this afternoon.
We walked to end of the road above our house, with a slight detour into the woods.
I've yet to try it out for anything other than walking, but hope to soon when we start running.
This weekend, I hope to update with new progress pictures and an update on my weight loss.

"Owl Mommy! Owl!"
My sister in-law turned Freedom on to "The Owl Box".
It's a live streaming webcam focused on a family of barn owls. People have been able to watch the owlets hatch and Molly, the owl, take care of her hatch-lings.
As soon as Freedom wakes up, she wants to see the owls. When we leave the house, she wants to say "good bye" to the owls. Before nap time, and bed time she wants to say "nite nite" to the owls.
Randomly throughout the day, Freedom wants to check in on the Owls.
This evening, she climbed up in the chair with a box of cereal and asked to check in on the owls.

Hair Experimentation Week Day 3: Calling "Scary Spice"
Eeep.
Day Three was a major disaster.
Well unless I wanted to channel Scary Spice or rock the 80's teased hair.
How did I mess it up this bad?
I fixed it before bed. I use the wave enhancer spray and put my hair into pin curls.
It was really crunchy.
Are you ready?
I decided to straighten my hair.
It was a lot better!
Told you!
This weekend, I will try and find a cheap curling iron.
I used to have a big one, but I think I gave it to my sister in-law a few years ago.

Happy St Paddy's Day
To quote the McManus Brothers, "Yeah, it's St. Paddy's Day, everyone's Irish tonight. Why don't you just pull up a stool and have a drink with us?"
Thankfully, I am of Irish decent!
If you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough!
Me, on the short kid on the left and my step dancing partner.
My husband refers to it as a mix of clogging and river dancing.

Hair Experimentation Week Day 2: Fail
Day two of my "hair experimentation week".
Today I tried the wave enhancing spray that I used yesterday along with Herbal Essences' "Toussle Me Softly" Mousse. I attempted to use the Velcro rollers. I failed.
Started off with the normal washing and conditioning of my hair. It's Aussie's Sydney Smooth Shampoo and their Cleanse and Mend Conditioner. I don't know if if the super duper special wavy shampoo is really needed here or not. I don't want a tonne of shampoo and conditioners in my shower.
I combed it out, and let it dry most of the way before I sprayed the wave enhancing spray and then used a tiny bit of the mousse. Like I mentioned, I used the rollers. Maybe I need a lesson in those too? They seemed to rip my hair out of the curl. Are they supposed to work that way?
It was a huge mess.
I ended up using a bit more spray and scrunching my hair up into a messy bun to let it dry again.
Still not thrilled with the results.
This is more along the lines of what I'm going for
Those are two pictures from my Junior year in High School.
The pics are kind of bad because it was one of those old Digital Cameras that used the floppy disk and and didn't even come out to a megapixel.
My hair was a lot thicker back then. sigh.
The only thing I remember was getting up really early and using heat rollers. I don't want to use that much heat plus I would have to buy a new set. The set I had in High School was given to me.
So what are we going to try tomorrow?
I had thought about doing the pin curls tonight and letting them dry overnight. I have to work tomorrow so if it's horrible in the morning, I can take pictures of the mess and then straighten it.

Hair Experimentation Week
My hair... I hate it.
It's fine, thin and oily. Oh, and borderline curly.
In short, I hate it!
My usual routine is to blow dry and straighten it. But I have become worried about damaging my all ready thinning hair. I am exploring ways to fix it with minimal "care" and make it look manageable. I don't have a bunch of extra time to spend fixing it or putting it back in place all day long.
So this week, I will document my little experimentation ... complete with pictures.
Today's experiment involved Garnier Fructis' Wonder Wave Enhancing Spray.
After washing and drying with Aussie shampoo and conditioner, I let my hair air dry most of the way before I sprayed it down with this. According to the back of the bottle, you're supposed to put your hair in pin curls and let it dry. After talking to my sister in law, I made Barrel Curls. Ooops. She also suggested using mousse.
Here are the results
I wasn't extremly thrilled with the results.
Maybe it was because of my haphazard "pin curls" which were really barrel curls.
I went out and bought some velcro rollers to try tomorrow. Not sure if I will try mousse or not.
For a comparison to my usual hair.
