Les Poutines

When I think of Quebec Cuisine, one thing jumps out at me more than anything else: Poutines!
What are they?
They're french fries, with brown gravy and cheese curds (which is hard to get here.) Most people have never heard of cheese curds. I remember buying them in the cheese section of our local grocery store. My mother said that you can buy little snack packs of cheese curds at convenience stores.  I personally don't like them. Then again, I don't eat much cheese.

After the cheese curds, the other memory of eating in Quebec is the fries. They are hand cut and deep fried. Even in most smaller sit down restaurants they are done this way. They used to have "home style" fries at East Coast Wings. That was my main reason for eating there.

  2. we have a local restaurant here in Denver that makes poutine and while I know it's sooooo bad for me, every couple of months I will go there to have it.
